Beyond The Gates Day Ahead: Nicole is furious at Dani’s confession!

Wednesday, June 18, 2024: In today’s day ahead Canadian BTG episode, Madison meets Chelsea’s family, Jacob and Naomi talk about Ashley and Derek, and Bill complains about having to continue therapy.

Jacob surprises Naomi

Naomi and Jacob wake up in bed and talk about Ashley breaking Derek’s heart by turning down his proposal.

Jacob assumes she turned him down because of Andre. She’s not convinced but he points out how close Ashley and Andre are.

They have both questioned them and she refuses to take what his gut tells him seriously.

He offers her a quickie before she can go to the family meeting.

 

Derek dumps Ashley

Ashley wakes up with a hangover and is shocked to see half-nude Andre in front of her. He says he really wore her out last night.

She snaps out of it. That was a dream.

There’s a knock at the door so she hobbles over to answer it. It’s Derek.

He needs to pick up his bag. They talk about why she rejected his proposal and why she’s not ready.

He just wants them to be happy now rather than wait as if they are going to age into it like wine.

After grunting, she rushes to the bathroom to throw up.

When she comes out, he gets some ginger tea and she asks if he will fight or run. He wants to save them. So does she.

But marriage isn’t the answer. They need to think of something else. Derek has no other ideas.

Ashley loves him. He’s so kind and brave. They just need to put in the work.

Derek doesn’t believe she’s being honest that this is a timing issue.

When he walks out, she looks at her hand.

She eats some fruit and he returns with lattes. She asks why he thinks she doesn’t want to marry him.

He suggests she could be holding out for someone better. She insists she would never cheat on him. “Well, there’s that,” he says.

Derek declares they are over and there’s nothing to say. She wishes him well and apologizes for being so cliché.

He wishes he could have been the one to make her happy and exits.

Nicole trips over her words

At Vernon’s, Dani checks her makeup before Madison and Chelsea arrive. She informs them that Nicole is on the way while their mom is gone.

Chelsea tries to get her mom to dial it down but Dani wants everyone to meet her new girlfriend.

Chelsea asks if everyone includes her boyfriend. Dani says he’s not her boyfriend.

Nicole arrives and is flustered while they explain that Madison is Chelsea’s new girlfriend. Dani recalls how Vernon used to grill her boyfriends.

Madison whispers to Chelsea that this may have been a mistake. This is too soon. Chelsea agrees.

Dani butts in to object to this as Vernon joins them. He’s happy to meet Madison. No one has told him anything about her.

They sit and talk about how they met at the hospital.

Vernon sends his daughters out as he gets to know Madison. She tells him about her credentials.

He admires that and then explains that the Duprees are “family first” and she admires that.

Vernon admits he’s surprised this was set up so immediately. Chelsea says it was her mom’s idea.

Dani and Nicole sit in a corner and talk about how Bill is recovering. They giggle about how much contempt they have for him.

Dani hopes that Madison treats Chelsea better than Bill treated her.

Suddenly, Dani confesses to her sister that she has been sleeping with Andre for months. Nicole shudders.

Dani needs her to explain why this upsets her. It’s not like they are blood relatives.

Nicole reminds her she asked her about this and she lied to her face. Ted betrayed her and now her sister is sleeping with her nephew.

She cares about Andre. Dani asks if she’s jealous. “I wish I was sleeping with my nephew!” Nicole jokes.

She’s not about to forgive and forget this and flounces out.

Dani returns to the others and tells Madison how vigilant the family is about outsiders. Madison assures them she would never do anything to hurt Chelsea.

Vernon is delighted and happy to see their genuine affection. Chelsea hugs him.

Once the young women exit, Vernon asks Dani what happened with her sister. She won’t explain.

They wonder if Chelsea is moving too fast and seeking comfort due to the suffering Bill has caused her.

 

Ted opens up about Nicole

Andre goes to Ted’s office with cinnamon lattes and tells him that Dani is starting to open up to the idea of going public.

Ted can only imagine how Nicole will react. Andre thinks Dani doesn’t want people to know they are together because she’s afraid he will hurt her.

The topic turns to Ted and Nicole and Andre tells him a relationship is like a shark and has to move forward or die.

Ted wants his marriage to survive. Andre says he needs to swim to thrive.

Maybe one day, he and Dani can go on a double date with him and Nicole.

At home, Hayley isn’t thrilled that Bill is drinking before noon. He’s making up for lost time.

When he tells her he’s been missing her “comforts of home,” she reminds him that they put him in the hospital.

He’s not happy she serves him fruit for breakfast instead of steak. He’s just happy he doesn’t have to do more PT.

Shanice shows up and announces they are continuing the PT at home. She takes away his booze.

Naomi steps in to see them and teases her dad as he exercises. She starts bickering with Hayley, who thought they were past that.

Naomi isn’t about to embrace her as a stepmother. Hayley misses her friend.

She suggests that she and Shanice leave the father and daughter alone.

Bill shows Naomi how well he can walk on his cane and then asks if she has to be so hard on Hayley. “Yes,” she says.

She admits she’s soured on “coupledom” at the moment. She won’t explain.

They talk about his PT and he tries making jokes. His daughter has no sense of humor and admits the thought of him not being around is unbearable.

Bill gives her a cuddle.

After Naomi and Shanice leave, Hayley sobs. Bill asks what’s wrong. His wife says it’s nothing.

She admits it’s just hitting her how close she came to losing him. He’s all she has. No family, no friends.

Bill assures her he’s not going anywhere.

Once she calms down and walks off, Bill calls to take out a life insurance policy for ten million dollars and Hayley as beneficiary.

Ashley and Shanice sign in at work. Ashely explains she and Derek broke up.

Nicole walks in and Shanice hands her the flowers Ted sent.

June’s missing an important photo

Naomi meet with June at Orphie Gene’s and tells her what a fine human being she is.

June wonders if she’ll still think that after she hears what she has to say. She tells her the “clean-up crew” came and raided the homeless camp.

They took all her stuff and she needs help getting it back. They stole her picture of the kids.
